Important Update from The Grocery Spot Since day one, our mission has been rooted in equity, inclusion, and community-first care — specifically for our neighbors in Grove Park and the surrounding 30318 and 30314 zip codes. After recent canvassing, we learned that over 70% of the people shopping at our store travel more than 10 miles to receive free groceries. While we love that folks from across Atlanta know we’re here to help, the heartbreaking truth is this: We’re running out of resources. As much as we wish we could feed everyone, the influx of people from outside neighborhoods has made it impossible for us to consistently serve the very community we were created to support. Starting Tuesday, April 29, our Tuesday shopping hours will be reserved only for residents of the 30318 and 30314 zip codes. This decision is painful — but it’s necessary. It’s not about exclusion. It’s about realignment with our founding purpose: to fight food injustice right here at home. We are actively working toward the capacity to open more days each week and eventually serve a wider range of zip codes. But for now, we must stay rooted. We hope you understand. If you believe in what we do, help us grow. Every dollar helps us get one step closer to opening more days, expanding our reach, and feeding more families.
