Do you ever ask your child to do something they don’t want to do, and they respond by doing ANYTHING but the thing you asked them to? Perhaps they even get silly and start doing some wonky stuff? Wondering why this happens? If your child has a learning history of engaging in silly behaviors when you ask them to do something unpreferred, what’s likely happened is that they have been reinforced for not doing the thing you asked them to. What does that look like? Reinforcement might be you acknowledging they are being silly in some way- which also delays what you asked them to do. Perhaps you say something like, “Sophia, get your foot out of your mouth and brush your teeth!” or you might match their silliness with a playful voice while saying, “We can’t eat crayons, Sophia! Now you have blue teeth. That’s yucky!” The crayon story is a true story by the way that happened with Sophia’s grandma (love you, mom!!) I certainly believe in being silly. In fact, if someone wanted to have a silly contest, I would definitely be down- BUT, there is a time and a place for when we are playful and silly with our kids. I will provide you with some strategies in part 2 of this video! #aba #appliedbehavioranalysis #behavior #bcba #bcaba #rbt #behavioranalysis #behavioranalyst #parents #parenting #positiveparenting #parentingtips #parenting101 #parentsofinstagram #parentinghacks #teachers #teachersofinstagram #teach #teaching #teacher #education #school #reinforcement #positivereinforcement #language #communication #positiveparentingtips #behaviormanagement #classroommanagement #teachersoftiktok #fyp #parentsoftiktok

Question: I'd like to know why you seemed to have settled on bright colors and texture more than the traditional paintings in actual colors such as the beach scenes you've painted in the past. Is one technique more challenging than another? Answer: That's great that you noticed. Thanks for asking. I have been exploring this limited color palette of bright colors to add more joy to my life. I don't know if you've ever gone through times of darkness, but my vivid paintings have sure lightened up my life. In contrast to my more realistic work, I would say that this is more challenging because I have chose a different color spectrum to work with. Meaning I have to alter my known perception of the world. Like for instance, Prior to this series, I painted the usual colors of the Flatiron in NYC and it felt derivative, like it had done before. I really wanted to express my love for NYC differently with an alternative, bright bold colors. . . . . #Fauvist #Fauvism #contemporaryart #brightcolors #vividcolor #oilpaint #artist #lisabisbee #lisabisbeeart
