The Punjab Wildlife Department arrested an illegal trader of snow leopard skin in Lahore today and retrieved a skin worth US$20,000. The successful intelligence-based operation was carried out by the department’s special squad, led by AD Asim Kamran. This operation is part of the ongoing combing operations against illegal trade of wildlife species on the directions of CM Punjab. Pakistan is promoting the snow leopard as a global symbol of climate adaptation. Snow leopards are near extinction in Pakistay. Only under 400 snow leopards remain in country. Special thanks to DG Wildlife Punjab Mudassar along with IG police and WWF-Pakistan for their continued vigilince to protect Snow leopard which is recognised as a global symbol of climate adaptation. #punjab #pmln #wildlife #leopard

Have you ever seen a controlled avalanche? This is a common practice in Colorado due to the high avalanche risk. Helicopters bomb targeted areas to “induce” these slides - this preventative tactic keeps backcountry skiers and local residents safe by mitigating the risk for potential slides. #coloradocheck #avalanchesafety #avalanche #avalanchecontrol
