As Maha Kumbh 2025 nears its conclusion, a rare celestial event is unfolding—a planetary parade where all seven planets of the solar system are visible from Earth. Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune have been aligning since January, with Mercury joining in February. The phenomenon will peak on February 28, 2025, when all seven planets align on one side of the Sun. This cosmic spectacle holds spiritual significance for many, as such alignments are believed to amplify divine energies. While Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn can be seen with the naked eye, Uranus and Neptune require binoculars or a telescope. The best time for viewing is during twilight after sunset or before sunrise. Another similar alignment with six planets will occur in August 2025, offering another chance to witness this rare event. Some of you may wonder why I’m taking an invertebrate zoology course when I have worked with invertebrates before and really the answer is quite simple. My main reason for participating in the fisheries and aquaculture program is because I have a passion for sustainable seafood and global food security and we can’t have those things without consuming invertebrates! One of my professors had a great conversation with me about farming sea urchin and how it could be done sustainably and economically. Then, of course, creatures that we take for granted (and didnt see in this video) like mussels and clams. I’m working on developing a relationship with invertebrates that goes beyond research specimen, and I think this class is slowly allowing me to do that. #marinebiology #scientistsoftiktok #scicomm
