Russland und die USA würden sich über die Ukraine auf vertraulichen politischen und militärischen Kommunikations-Kanaälen austauschen, erklärte der stellvertretende russische Außenminister Sergej Ryabkow nach einem Bericht der Nachrichenagentur Interfax. Weiter sagte demnach Ryabkow, das Versprechen des neuen US-Präsidenten Donald Trump, den Krieg rasch zu beenden, seien reine Rhetorik. Bezüglich der Ukraine gebe es keine einfachen Lösungen.

Die Ukraine will nach eigenen Angaben mit Vorbereitungen für ein Treffen von Präsident Wolodymyr Selenskyj mit dem designierten US-Präsidenten Donald Trump beginnen. Das erklärte Außenminister Andrij Sybiha bei einer Pressekonferenz mit EU-Chefdiplomat Josep Borrell in Kiew. Allerdings nannte Sybiha keine Details - weder zu einem Zeitrahmen noch zum Ort eines möglichen Treffens. «Der Dialog zwischen Trump und Selenskyj ist bereits hergestellt», sagte er mit Blick auf das jüngste Telefonat der beiden Politiker vor wenigen Tagen. «Wir sind für weitere Zusammenarbeit offen.»

Trump und Selenskyj hatten sich zuletzt Ende September in New York am Rande einer USA-Reise des ukrainischen Präsidenten getroffen. Dabei habe Selenskyj Trump den ukrainischen Friedensplan vorgestellt, der in seinem Kern einen «Frieden durch Stärke» vorsehe, erinnerte Sybiha. Zentrale Punkte dieses Plans sehen weitere westliche Waffenlieferungen an Kiew sowie eine zeitnahe Einladung zum Nato-Beitritt vor. Der Wahlsieg Trumps habe globale Konsequenzen, hob Sybiha hervor. Die Ukraine erhoffe sich dadurch eine Chance, den Weg zu einem gerechten Frieden zu beschleunigen.

Nach dem Sieg von Donald Trump bei der US-Präsidentschaftswahl trifft der Republikaner in der kommenden Woche den demokratischen Amtsinhaber Joe Biden. Das Weiße Haus teilte mit, Biden werde seinen ehemaligen Wahlkampf-Kontrahenten am Mittwoch im Oval Office empfangen. Die beiden politischen Rivalen treffen sich selten. Ihre Zusammenkunft ist angesichts ihres erbitterten Wettstreits besonders aufgeladen. 

Eine Rückkehr zu den Konventionen

Biden (81) hatte Trump (78) bereits kurz nach der Wahl angerufen, ihm zum Sieg gratuliert und ihn ins Weiße Haus eingeladen. Auch der frühere US-Präsident Barack Obama hatte Trump nach dessen erstem Wahlsieg 2016 zu einem Gespräch in der Regierungszentrale empfangen. Das gehört zum üblichen Umgang rund um einen Machtwechsel in den USA. Trump allerdings war 2020 von solchen Konventionen abgerückt.

3 247, c’est l’impressionnant nombre de messages postés par Elon Musk sur son compte X entre le 5 octobre et le 5 novembre. Soit en moyenne 101 messages par jour adressés à ses 203,4 millions d’abonnés. En pleine campagne pour la présidentielle américaine entre le républicain Donald Trump et la démocrate Kamala Harris, cette profusion ne pouvait être anodine. D’autant qu’en 2020, lors de la précédente élection, Elon Musk s’était montré bien plus discret.

"Le Monde" a collecté et étudié l’ensemble de ces messages pour mieux en saisir la nature. Notre enquête permet d’analyser en détail le comportement du patron de X sur sa propre plateforme et à quel point il s’est mué en machine de propagande au service de Donald Trump.
