Onkwe’s second annual Nation to Nation Food Sustainability Conference took place from March 8-9, bringing together Akwesasronon and visitors to share knowledge on seed saving, traditional planting, rainwater harvesting, and more. Hands-on workshops like mushroom cultivation, elderberry propagation, and a community swap gave participants tools to support food sovereignty at home. Niawenhkó:wa to everyone who attended, presented, and helped make this event possible! Together, we’re planting the seeds for a more sustainable future. 🌱🌍 This event was proudly sponsored by the Mohawk Council of Akwesasne’s Dept. of Community & Social Services and the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe’s Agriculture Program. #onkwe #akwesasne #foodsustainability #foodsovereignty #indigenous #firstnations
