The six-week Maha Kumbh Mela, one of the world’s largest religious gatherings, concluded on February 26 with millions taking a final ritual dip in the sacred river in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. Authorities reported that over 620 million people attended the event, held every 12 years, where devotees believe the river’s waters cleanse sins and grant salvation. However, the festival was marred by tragedy and health concerns. A report from the Central Pollution Control Board revealed that parts of the river were contaminated with high levels of faecal coliform bacteria, failing to meet bathing water quality standards. Two deadly incidents also cast a shadow over the event. On February 15, a stampede at a New Delhi railway station killed at least 20 people as thousands rushed to board overcrowded trains to the festival. Earlier, on January 29, chaos erupted during a mass bathing ritual, resulting in 30 deaths and 60 injuries. Despite the challenges, the Maha Kumbh Mela drew an enormous crowd, reaffirming its significance as a major Hindu pilgrimage. 🎥 ViralPress #india #news #bathing #river #utterpradesh #newdelhi #mahakumbhmela

I am an advocate for SAFE virtual practice environments. I’ve seen first hand the unsafe practice environments of some of America’s “favorite telemedicine” platforms and I quickly exit stage left. Unfortunately many other NPs don’t exit and it’s because they are afraid they have no other option. (there are some AMAZING large telemedicine platforms out there by the way. they are not ALL money hungry) I created this platform to encourage nurse practitioners who prioritize patient safety over "a quick buck" . I encourage them to launch their own practice on the side- make a difference in communities while also creating financial cushion to feel confortable leaving unsafe practice environments. If you are a nurse practitioner described above- welcome 🫶🏾🥰
